For the Streaming URL, enter the URL SWYH gave you, and then you can choose anything for the Station Name. To do this, click the “Manage” tab (in the top left) and then “Add radio station”. The final step is to add this URL as a radio station in your Sonos controller. WARNING: The IP SWYH gave me was actually wrong - the IP for my computer was incorrect, so Sonos could not find it. This URL is what your Sonos will use as a radio station in order to play your PC’s audio. This should give you a URL for a radio station version of your audio stream. Next, again open the SWYH menu from your taskbar and now click “Tools” and then “HTTP Live Streaming”. When this is done click OK, and allow SWYH to restart to apply the changes. Everything is fine there except the option “Use specific HTTP port” - you want to tick this and enter a port number (in this tutorial we will use 5901). Instead of the “Stream to” section, you want to click on “Settings”. Right click this and try to stream to your Sonos using the “Stream to” section - it won’t work! There’s no need to fear, as there is a workaround we can use to counter this. All going well, you should see its icon in your taskbar. Note: This tutorial is written for version 1.4 (build 16069) of SWYHĪfter downloading and installing the two requirements above, you’ll want to run SWYH.
We are going to use Stream What You Hear in order to create a radio station of our PC audio, and then add this with the Sonos Controller available for download officially from Sonos. I am writing this up after looking for about an hour for a way to do this for free with little luck.
